You should cook more instead of buying your meals in restaurants or processed food that is ready to eat such as frozen dinners or lunch meat. Cooking can be a lot of fun: look up recipes online and plan on cooking a few dishes with your family members or your friends over the weekend. Cook in large quantities and freeze some of the food in individual containers so you can take some healthy lunches to work all week long. You should also keep some healthy foods you can use to make a salad, a soup or a sandwich if you do not have time to cook.

Avoid overeating and snacking in between meals. If you are hungry between meals, choose a healthy snack such as some nuts, a fruit or some raw vegetables. You can also drink a glass of water to fill your stomach and wait until the next meal. If eating three meals a day is too hard, you should try eating up to six smaller meals throughout your day. Getting used to your new diet will be easier if you make one change at a time and give yourself a few days to get used to new foods and habits.

You should apply these tips and start making changes to your eating habits. Adopting a healthier diet can be hard, but you will feel more comfortable in your body, increase your life expectancy and challenge yourself.
