Benedict College is hosting one of the largest youth training programs in South Carolina, bringing together teenagers to learn more about the Christian faith.
?The Young People?s Christian Assembly (YPCA), which attracted nearly 300 youth each year, has been an annual gathering for over 40 years,? explained Rev. D.L. Grant, Sr., Director of Church Relations at Benedict College. ?The Assembly provides a venue to reach youth. These young attendees learn about Christian education in an environment that allows them to interact with peers and participate in recreational and social activities,? he said.
The annual YPCA is open to participants ranging from ages 12-18 years old. The assembly will start on Sunday July 15, 2012 and continue through Wednesday, July 18, 2012. During the YPCA, students will attend a variety of classes, including themes on Dating and Marriage. The cost to attend YPCA is $120 per person, which includes food and lodging.
The culmination of the assembly on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 is a graduation for those students who have been attending through their teenage years. The event will be held at 3 p.m. in the Antisdel Chapel on the campus of Benedict College.
